Did you know that RSV affects nearly all children by the time they reach two years of age? It begins with cold-like symptoms but the child’s condition can sometimes worsen: nearly 60,000 children under the age of 5 in the United States are hospitalized because of RSV each year. Currently there is no medicine approved for outpatient treatment, but with your help, researchers are looking to find one.
What can you do to help? If you are parents of children between 0 to 3 years old, by downloading this CROCuS app to your phone to track the symptoms of RSV, you can determine if your child may qualify for the RSV clinical study. You can also learn more about RSV, receive timely Center for Disease Control (CDC) info about local RSV trends, and connect with our research team. If symptoms persist, we can test for RSV infection during a site visit after which your child may be eligible to take part in the Children’s RSV Outcome Clinical Study (CROCuS).
